Over the last few years there’s been a few standby items that have truly helped me lead a healthy lifestyle.
Here’s a little before and after for you (about two and a half years between the photos):
Also, I like to save money. I’m really not one to break the bank on purchases, so most of the items I use are affordable and they also last awhile! I know we’d all love to be walking around in Adidas while rocking Beats, but that’s just not realistic for most of us (unless it is, in which case is awesome!). I’d rather save money and use it to spend on traveling!
Here are the 6 (cheap) items that I would recommend to either kick start or fuel your healthy lifestyle!
1. Blender Bottle
I have so many of these water bottles. In fact, I have a bin in my kitchen full of them. I bring 2 to work with me: one with plain water and one with Energy Aminos. Whenever I travel, go to the beach, go shopping, go to the gym, etc… I have at least one with me. Also, if you are like me and don’t have a dishwasher, they are super easy to wash as you can actually fit your whole hand and sponge inside of the bottle! And they won’t break if you drop them, which I do a lot. Definitely a must have for me.
2. Skull Candy Headphones
I’ve been using Skull Candy headphones for years. They don’t fall out even when I’m doing intense cardio and the sound is great. I don’t use anything else. Also, the price is right because some headphones can get pretty pricey!
3. 90 Degree Workout Pants
It’s actually ridiculous how many 90 Degree workout pants I have. They have been the best fit, most comfortable, and high waisted enough so when you are working out and not looking to show belly, you are covered. I’m a size 6/7 in pants and wear a size medium. I have a bunch already and I’m sure will continue buying more! Some even have fleece on the inside and I’ll just wear them like regular pants on cold winter days.
4. Rubbermaid Tupperware
I’ve said in past posts addressing meal prep, this Tupperware has been the best, and I’ve tried a lot! The portion size is perfect. I pack it every week with my lunch meal prep. This Tupperware has never leaked on me (as others have) and isn’t glass, so no need to worry about breaking it while traveling. It’s also lasted quite a long time (a few years) so this would be my number one recommendation for portioned meal prep.
5. Booty Bands
These were a recent purchase in the last few months, but have quickly become a favorite. Not only can you use them to work your legs and booty, but they make for a great arm, shoulder, and back workout as well. I keep them in my gym bag and frequently add them to my workout routine.
6. Waist Slimming Belt
The biggest difference in my waist was when I started using a waist slimming belt. I wear it while working out in order to increase sweat. It’s important to not wear it too tight as it should feel comfortable. Basically, I wear it everyday and it makes a huge difference. There’s no one brand I prefer over another, but I like a velcro wrap with neoprene inside.
I hope this list helps. There are so many items out there that could cause you to really break the bank when all you are looking to do is be healthy on a budget. I truly use these items everyday and highly recommend each one!
